Develop the skills you need to be a valuable and effective member of a team through our Design, Make, Market & Sell Framework. Build confidence in meeting deadlines, following task briefs, collaboration, and what to expect in a workplace.

Starting with a product brief, trainees follow the process of research and design development, both collaboratively and independently. Creative concepts are then developed using both digital and hands-on methods.

Once the design concepts are in place, trainees will develop prototypes and mock-ups before moving to final production. Develop skills in accuracy, quality control and attention to detail.

With the final product now designed and made, we move on to packaging, branding and point of sale. We look at the use of photography as well as the various online methods of marketing.

Developing customer service skills, merchandising and the opportunity to take part in face-to-face selling are all options for those who wish to engage with this part of our programme. We recognise that not all of our trainees feel comfortable in these settings, which is why this module is optional.

By following the Design, Make, Market & Sell Framework, our trainees are developing the tools they need to start a micro-business and we have various pathways to support this.
